Big Boy

We had our 36 week ultrasound on Monday and found out our boy is a little on the big side…he is about 6 lbs. 11 ounces. Dr. Gaio said he was about the 80th percentile.

What this news means…I am going out on leave earlier to rest up. Perfectly fine with me.

Shower Time

My wonderful mother threw me the most amazing shower this past weekend. About 30 friends and family members were there to share the day with me. It was the first time that I felt completely pregnant. I was so exhausted and had cankles (when your ankles are the size of your calfs) by the end of the day. Chris and I received so many wonderful gifts and even got a few unexpected ones from friends and family who are out of state (Thanks JB, formal thank you cards to come soon). The day was perfect thanks to my mother’s attention to detail, a wonderful set up crew of my dad and brother, and the bartending abilities of my dear friend Brooke and her mom Donna. Even more important, Chris' mom Grandma Cindy flew all the way from Buffalo, NY to be with us. I am so thankful.

P.S. We decided on a name…Max. It was on the cake and part of the decorations so it has to stick.

P.P.S. Here are a few pictures. I’ll post more when we get them back from the photographer (a friend of my mom).

Salton Sea Experience

So, we decided to embark on a journey to the Salton Sea this past weekend. Steve was visiting, so what better way to spend a Saturday (I say that with sarcasm). 100 degree weather coupled with the smell of dead fish was quite invigorating. We did stop in Palm Springs for lunch which was fun.

If you are unfamiliar with the Salton Sea, I recommend you read more about it. It truly is a weird place. We felt like we were part of a horror film.
