We had a doctor's appointment at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1. Our doctor said my fluid was relatively low and she did not want to risk keeping him in there any longer; so, we headed to the hospital to be induced. At 7 p.m. I was given pitocin to jump start the labor; however, I was already having mild contractions. Once the pain was pretty strong, I took an epidural (it was amazing!). I am glad I was able to experience several hours without it. I give any woman who gives birth medication-free a ton of props. Around 1 a.m. I had to be taken off the pitocin because Max's heart rate dropped. I was worried that this would make the labor take even longer. A nurse came in at 5 a.m.to check how far I was dilated and gave me the wonderful news that it was time to push. After about 30 minutes of pushing our beautiful baby boy was here. He came out looking pretty pale because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck.
Chris was an amazing coach keeping me cool by fanning me. He only hit my in the face once :). He kept me calm and relaxed; we had a wonderful birthing experience together. My mom was given the task as the baby photographer, but also comforted me throughout the whole process.
The experience was amazing and our baby is wonderful. We can't stop starring at him. Here are a few pictures. I'll post more soon.

Oh Cait....I'm so excited for you both...I know that everyone says this, but your lives will never be the same. Motherhood means that forever more your heart will be walking around outside your body. There is no love greater than the love for your child. I'm happy for you both and I look forward to meeting both your men! Much love...
